Letter From the Editor- “Rooted in Opportunity, Rising in Pride”

Hello, Woodcresters!

Welcome to another edition of Beaver’s Pride! We’re almost through the first quarter of the year, and before you know it, RUSH season will be here.

Woodcrest has been buzzing with new additions, including new classes, a brand-new book club, and a fresh approach to Performance Art. If you’re new to Woodcrest University and still finding your way around, here are a few helpful pointers.

Looking for a job? Check out the Work Study program. Reach out to Royce Bell, and she will help match you with a position that fits you perfectly. Prefer something close to your dorm or home? Take a walk around town. There are plenty of job opportunities available.

Need support or guidance? Becoming You is a great place to start. Contact Griselda Martinez-Longfall, and she will help you find your place here at Woodcrest.

Want to get more involved on campus? In addition to your classes, you can join a sport such as Cheer, Swim Team, Workout Sessions, or Defense Training. Greek life is also growing. We now have sororities, fraternities, and even a co-ed Greek house.

Clubs more your style? We have MEH and The Ink Between Us Book Club, with more always on the horizon. If there’s something you wish we had and think others would enjoy too, consider starting your own club or organization.

Don’t forget about Student Council, which meets once a month to hear your ideas and concerns. Our president, Lalzo Hunter, is committed to listening to students and ensuring their voices are heard.

In short, Woodcrest is full of opportunities. All you have to do is explore them or take the initiative to create something new and make it happen!
