RUSH Day 3 took students to the shoreline as Sigma hosted their a Polar Plunge, transforming the beach by the docks into a frosty but festive gathering. With snow blanketing the sand and chunks of ice floating along the shoreline, the scene looked straight out of a winter postcard, just with far more swimwear than anyone would expect.

Participants arrived bundled in coats over cute swimsuits, shuffling across the icy ground while psyching themselves up for the challenge ahead. Sigma set the tone with a massive bonfire that roared throughout the event, offering warmth, light, and a cozy anchor point for everyone preparing to brave the plunge. Tables nearby served warm beverages. Everything from hot chocolate to steaming cider, helping keep spirits high despite the freezing temperatures.

People approached the water in small groups, each gathering the courage to step into the icy surf. Some lasted only a moment before rushing back out with dramatic shivers, while others stayed in for a full minute or more, determined to prove their polar endurance. A few brave and slightly wild participants lingered even longer, splashing around and cheering each other on as the cold rose around them.

Midway through the event, Sigma President Yosh called everyone’s attention and announced that it was time for the main highlight. A massive group plunge. The energy shifted instantly as nearly everyone on the beach began stripping off coats and heading toward the shoreline together. What followed was a chaotic, hilarious, and unforgettable moment. Dozens of students ran into the icy water all at once, filling the air with a chorus of shrieks, laughter, and stunned reactions.
