There has multiple student reports involving suspected drug tampering on and around campus. According to several students, individuals have been slipping drugs into their drinks or offering candy that was later discovered to be laced with unknown substances.
These incidents have occurred in various locations, including a popular student hangout spot and even during class sessions—signaling that the issue is not confined to one area. The unsettling pattern has left many students feeling that nowhere on campus is entirely safe from the threat.
I am urging students to remain vigilant, especially during social events and gatherings. I strongly advise against accepting candy, snacks, or drinks unless they come directly from an unopened, sealed package. Students are also encouraged to keep a close eye on their belongings, avoid leaving drinks unattended, and report suspicious behavior immediately.
Investigation has not been made as the police department is still currently on strike. However, it is encourage to use the buddy system to watch out for one and another.
I would like to reminds all students that their safety is a top priority: staying aware, looking out for one another, and reporting concerns can make a critical difference.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Campus Security or submit an anonymous tip through the university’s safety portal.
