Dear Readers,
Volunteering is the backbone of any thriving community, and here at Woodcrest, we have no shortage of opportunities to make a difference. Whether it’s lending a hand at a food bank, helping maintain our beautiful campus, mentoring fellow students, or organizing events, every act of service strengthens the bonds that hold us together.
The Beaver Pride itself runs on the dedication of volunteers, students who step up as writers and photographers, all committed to keeping our campus informed. Without them, there would be no campus paper, no record of the stories that shape our university experience. And just like with the newspaper, many of the programs and organizations we rely on exist because people choose to give their time.
But volunteering isn’t just about filling a need. It’s about growth. It teaches leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving, all while creating meaningful connections. It’s easy to get caught up in personal goals, academics, and work, but stepping outside of ourselves and contributing to something larger reminds us that we are part of a community.
If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, now is the time. Organizations across campus need helping hands, and yes, The Beaver Pride is always looking for more writers and photographers to join our team. Even a few hours of your time can make a difference.
So take the leap! In giving back, you might just find that you receive more than you ever expected.
Warm regards,
Loneleigh Resident
