On Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 3 PM, a live performance took place at Baycrest. “The sea breeze hitting your face, a fresh drink in your hand, beautiful soft music floating around you… Come finish your weekend in the best possible way with drinks, live music, and the magic of Baycrest.” This was the promise of Bossa & Chill, an event featuring a live singer named Carson and a guitarist named Joaquin. They captivated the people of Woodcrest with their incredible talent, leaving such a lasting impression that many have requested their return for another performance.
With such glowing reviews, I set out to discover who was behind this fantastic event. It was none other than Woodcrest’s own Poe. For those unfamiliar with her, Poe is the owner of Nevermore and the mastermind behind all of Woodcrest’s social media platforms.
I asked Poe how she came up with the idea and whether we can expect more performances like this in the future. She explained that she wanted to highlight different areas of Woodcrest. Having organized similar events in the past with great success, she thought, Why not adapt it for Woodcrest? Her plan is to host these events once a month, each with a unique theme and lineup of artists.
