On September 13, the Tight Ends Sports Bar held a reopening event. The reopening comes after extensive renovations that were required due to a bus crash that severely damaged the structure. Tight Ends co-manager Axl Juan told Beaver Pride, “Tight Ends had a bit of an unfortunate accident. A bus crashed into the building, which caused quite a mess. Tight Ends is having a grand RE-opening because Sigma might have crashed a bus into it, causing a pretty epic fire, gutting the building.” He further assured that the structure was now completely safe saying, “Multiple rounds of paintball and dodgeball in the empty space before we really got down to business have me convinced this place is solid.”
The event featured a live DJ whose tunes lit up the dance floor as the drinks flowed. The bar served a variety of food and drink. Axl stated that, “[Tight Ends is] experimenting with what may be some signature dishes. Right now [they] are serving a sort of elevated bar-food menu, a gastropub model. As far as drinks are concerned, [they] have a steady revolving tap list of local craft beers and a few of the favorite national beers, a full wine cellar, and [their] mixologists are top flight, so the cocktails will be absolutely on point.”
The Sports Bar is also actively hiring and soliciting town and campus organizations to hold events there. “We are looking at some weekly event possibilities. I know that as leader of Sigma house we will be holding some events here as well. We actually encourage all Greek houses and other organizations to reach out to us to host their events here as well,” said Axl.
Bunny Juan, another co-manager of Tight Ends, who was also the DJ during the event, spoke enthusiastically about the reopening. “Tight Ends is the spot where fun and games meet great drinks and even better company. We’ve got the wild Coyote Ugly moments and some hilarious games that will make you lose your underwear, but it’s all about making sure everyone feels like they’re part of the fun. We’re not just serving drinks; we wanna create memories. So, to anyone out there…Tight Ends is back and if you’re ready for a good time, this is the place to be.”
