TAO Luau: A Wild, Wavy Celebration on the Dock

Article by Alex FoXx with photography by Minky Vonfer

The London Dock Beach came alive on Saturday afternoon, May 24, 2025, with sun, sass, and island vibes as the pledges of TAO threw down for the ultimate summer start: the TAO Luau. With vibrant décor, tiki torches, and tropical drinks flowing, it was more than just a party. It was an experience.

Guests were welcomed by cheeky signage like “Come Get Lei’d with TAO,” setting the tone for a playful, spirited afternoon. From the purple lei station near the stairs to the colorful surfboard photo ops, the whole area was transformed into a beachy paradise. Everyone from new faces to long-time friends stopped by to sip fresh cocktails served in hollowed-out pineapples, sample sweet tropical treats in coconuts, and vibe to the hot mix delivered by none other than DJ Zelda Vermilion Sempier. With flawless energy and slick transitions, Zelda kept the crowd swaying and dancing all afternoon.

Pledges served up fruity drinks and flirty smiles at the tiki bar under the giant “TAΦ” letters, while others passed around cupcakes, ice cream bars, and tropical tarts—each one a mini vacation in a bite. Not far from the bar, palm trees (both real and inflatable) added to the festive scenery. Hula skirts swished, flower crowns were donned, and even the most reluctant dancers couldn’t help but get pulled into the energy. One guest captured the spirit of the event as she sipped her umbrella-topped drink, simply enjoying the breeze and the carefree fun. And that’s exactly what this luau delivered.

TAO didn’t just throw a party. They created a memory.
