DOE Sparks the Night with a Bonfire

Article and photography by Minky Vonfer

On Saturday, May 3 at 6:00 PM, the Greek house DOE lit up the evening with a cozy and welcoming bonfire event near Lover’s Lane just off Maple Street at Woodcrest. The event, organized entirely by DOE’s pledges as part of their tasks, brought together students and locals for a relaxed night under the stars.

With a crackling bonfire at the center, guests gathered in thoughtfully arranged seating areas that encouraged conversation and connection. The warm glow from the flames paired perfectly with the chill music spun by DJ Didi, whose set kept the atmosphere mellow and easygoing throughout the night.

Surrounding the fire were food trucks offering a variety of tasty options, from savory bites to refreshing drinks and even a full spread of ice cream flavors to satisfy every sweet tooth.

DOE’s president, Sharon Skydancer, explained that the event was one of several tasks assigned to the pledges this season. She noted that the group has been making steady progress, with events like this one showing just how much effort and creativity they’re bringing to the table.

The bonfire gathering showcased the hard work of DOE’s newest members with laughter, music, and marshmallows in the air. The night was a glowing success, literally!
