The Sigma Chicken

Article by Stiles Winchester with photography by Melody Grace Blade

Some call him “Nugget”, but the Sigma boys refer to him as, “Sir Reginald Cocksworth III.” It was a bustling RUSH, and suddenly, seemingly from thin air, a specific visitor made way onto the Quad, brought as a theme prop or just for the hell of it by the Sigma Epsilon Chi Fraternity. This new guy, standing about ten inches high, weighing about twelve pounds and rich, auburn feathers is known officially as, “The Sigma Chicken.” He dances with the Tri Pi girls, games with the TAO girls, and succeeded evading the swords swung by the Medieval Club. Somehow, despite the imminent dangers of the party atmosphere known as Greek RUSH, he survived. Even with the endless days of drunken, stoned, mingled menagerie, and the booths being broken down to bring the Quad back to campus norm, Sir Cocksworth has now made the Quad his home, according to a public post made by Melody Grace Blade, a TAO pledge. If you run into him, be sure to give him love and food, and send the paper anything you hear or see regarding this sacred poultry god.
