A Night of Remembrance: A Review of Delta Alpha Mu’s Founder’s Day Formal

Article and photography by Mandie Romano

Delta Alph Mu’s Founder’s Day Formal on Monday, March 24th, proved to be a fitting tribute to the fraternity’s origins and a memorable night for its members. The event successfully blended reverence for the past with a lively celebration of the present.

The commitment to honoring the founders was evident throughout the evening. The catered food and thoughtfully chosen décor created an ambiance that spoke of significance and respect. The tasteful use of blue and silver, the fraternity’s colors, effectively tied the visual elements to the DAM identity.

Beyond the ambiance, the formal attire elevated the event. Students clearly put effort into presenting themselves in their finest, with the men looking sharp in tuxedos and the women radiant in their formal dresses. This attention to dress code contributed to the feeling of a special occasion.

The music, perhaps the most distinct element of the evening, was expertly curated by Tocho Winchester, a DAM brother whose diverse talents extend to being a bartender at the Iron Horse and a part-time DJ. He successfully captured the spirit of DAM, incorporating “classic” tunes alongside a playful selection of wolf-themed songs, a nod to the fraternity’s mascot. Winchester’s understanding of the fraternity’s vibe clearly resonated with the attendees and kept the energy high.

Ultimately, Delta Alph Mu’s Founder’s Day Formal was a well-executed event that honored its founders while providing a memorable and enjoyable experience for its members. The combination of elegant décor, formal attire, and the unique wolf-centric music curated by Tocho Winchester created a truly DAM-specific and successful celebration.
