On Tuesday, March 4, from 1 PM to 3 PM, the ladies of DOE hosted MarDOE Gras. I’m sure most of you are familiar with the celebration of Mardi Gras, and this was indeed a Mardi Gras-style event—but with a DOE flair—held in the city of Woodcrest. The festivities took place at the intersection of Seaside Way and Sea Winds Avenue. If those street names don’t ring a bell, it’s where the well-known bar Tight Ends and the savory Sweet Escape are located.
As you approached the venue, you were greeted by vibrant purple, yellow, teal, and green balloons decorating the area. A variety of delicious food and drinks were available for everyone to enjoy. Looking around, I noticed that partygoers were dressed to impress. Some wore eye-catching bikinis adorned with beautiful feathers, while others sported well-fitted pants and tops, also decorated with feathers. Many incorporated traditional Mardi Gras colors into their outfits. And of course, let’s not forget the beads!
What’s a party without great music? MarDOE Gras featured DJ Laci behind the booth, spinning energetic tunes that kept the crowd dancing. The atmosphere was electric—everyone was engaged, laughing, and sharing great conversations. It was a joy to simply sit back and watch so many people enjoy themselves.
Although I almost missed this fantastic event, I’m so glad I was able to attend!
