On December 21, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, the spirit of the season came alive at Winter Wonderland, a magical event hosted by members of the Sempier family—Disney, Cici, and Abbie. Their dedication to crafting a festive atmosphere was evident from the moment guests arrived.
At precisely four o’clock, the Performing Arts students took the stage, captivating the audience with a series of dances set to lively and heartwarming holiday tunes. Their performance set the tone for an evening filled with wonder and cheer.
After the performance, attendees were encouraged to explore the array of activities designed to delight both young and old. Options included gliding across the ice rink, perusing the charming Christmas market, or sharing a moment with Santa. My small group of friends and I gravitated toward the Christmas market, which brimmed with unique booths offering handcrafted items and seasonal treats. Among the treasures, I discovered an adorable stuffed toy—a perfect companion for the evening. The hot chocolate from one of the stalls was a standout, its rich, velvety warmth a welcome comfort in the chilly air.
No Winter Wonderland would be complete without a visit to Santa, who, in this case, was none other than Delta Alpha Mu President Thomas Evans. Seated in a plush, oversized chair, Thomas embodied the jolly holiday icon, greeting each visitor and inviting them to sit on Santa’s lap. As tradition dictates, guests who perched on Santa’s lap were asked how good they had been this year before being gifted a sweet peppermint candy cane. Santa surprised me with an extra special treat—a Santa Claus stuffie, which I will cherish as a memento of this magical evening.
Winter Wonderland was more than an event; it was a celebration of community, creativity, and holiday cheer. The dedication of its organizers and performers ensured it will be remembered as a highlight of the season.
