Whoville Holiday Bash

Woodcrest University students gathered Wednesday night for the highly anticipated Whoville Holiday Bash, a collaborative event hosted by the DAM Fraternity and DOE Sorority. The festivities took place in the abandoned warehouse by London Docks, which was transformed into a whimsical winter wonderland inspired by the beloved town of Whoville from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

As guests arrived, they were greeted by a stunning display of decorations, from towering candy canes to twinkling Christmas lights that brought the fictional town to life. The centerpiece of the event was a lively dance floor, setting the perfect festive tone. Adding to the party’s atmosphere was DJ Laci Rossini, who kept the energy high all night with a mix of holiday hits, classic dance tracks, and modern pop favorites. From “Jingle Bell Rock” to crowd-pleasers like “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” the playlist had everyone dancing beneath the stars hanging from the warehouse rafters.

DAM President Thomas Evans fully embraced the holiday spirit—by embodying its villain-turned-hero. Dressed as The Grinch, Evans roamed the event with a mischievous grin, posing for pictures, joking with guests, and even playfully “stealing” candy canes. Of course, no holiday party would be complete without food and drinks. A table laden with hot cocoa, spiced cider, and holiday treats like gingerbread cookies and peppermint bark ensured that everyone stayed warm and well-fed throughout the evening.

The event drew a large crowd, with attendees praising the immersive decorations, upbeat music, and strong sense of camaraderie. For many, it was a much-needed break from the stress of classes and an opportunity to embrace the holiday spirit with friends. By the end of the night, as the Grinch himself danced alongside the crowd to DJ Laci’s remix of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” it was clear the Whoville Holiday Bash had accomplished its mission: bringing joy to Woodcrest University, one holiday memory at a time.
