There’s a fad going around campus, and I feel like it should grow.
What’s better than impromptu parties thrown by community members? Recently on a weekend, community member Sam Roseride decided to do a Polar Plunge late at night. This choice to jump into the arctic temperatures of the local bay after the sun went down attracted quite a crowd of spectators. Among them were several Sigma Epsilon Chi Fraternity brothers, and even a brazen pledge who decided to join! The event ended in a dance party around the fire pit on the beach.
Another intriguing impromptu party happened the evening of Thursday, November 14, 2024, where Gwen Stacy Winchester, a Tri Pi Sorority potential, now pledge, grabbed her keys and opened the doors where she and her fellow pledge sisters as well as their friends infiltrated Tight Ends Sports bar for a dance party. Several others joined them, including Rachel Amborgio Spellweaver, who took over the decks to play some amazing tunes after a mass text went out. Sigma boys, Delta Alpha Mu Fraternity brothers, as well as non-Greek attendees, danced the night away.
This town is beginning to be quite unpredictable, but is this a bad thing? In my own opinion, this is healthy, incredibly spicy fun, and if you are ever bored, you should go out and have fun! What is that old saying? If you build it, they will come! In the same fashion: if you party, they will join! I know from personal experience being a Sigma Social Chair and brother that if more than three Sigma brothers stand around together, people get curious. That may be the same for anyone… just some food for thought!
