Pride 2024 arrived here in Woodcrest and you definitely felt the excitement around town and on campus! There were numerous events planned for this celebration, including a scavenger hunt and the spectacular Pride Parade. I’ll focus on the incredible Pride Parade.
The Pride Parade was truly a sight to behold. There were so many beautifully and artistically decorated floats from various Greek houses, community outreach services, and local businesses. The floats from the Greek houses were particularly creative. Each float clearly represented its organization, with distinctive designs that showcased their values and identity.
The stores along the parade route also contributed to the festive atmosphere, dressing their windows in a variety of decorations to show their support for Pride. It was evident that a lot of effort went into these designs, reflecting their commitment to the Woodcrest community. On behalf of everyone, I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to these businesses for their support and dedication.
Let’s not forget our fellow classmates and Woodcrest citizens! They came out in full force, embracing the spirit of the event. Adorned in colorful clothing, they truly made a statement. Their diverse personalities and strong support for the LGBTQ+ community were on full display, adding to the parade’s vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
