On July 27, the Sigma Epsilon Chi fraternity held a Summer Blowout house party in Greek row to celebrate the initiation of its new pledges. The event was a vibrant mix of celebration, camaraderie, and fraternity spirit, marking the culmination of a rigorous initiation process for the latest members. The large gathering of attendees included current fraternity brothers, the newly initiated pledges, members of the other fraternities and sororities, Woodcrest students, and even some townsfolk.
The event featured a live DJ who played a mix of popular and classic hits, keeping the dance floor busy throughout the evening. A barbecue offered a delicious spread of grilled favorites, from burgers to kebabs. Newly initiated Sigma brother, Peter Winchester, shared his excitement about joining the fraternity. “I love it. I finally have a crew that I feel I fit in with. I was always the geek loner in the back, but my boys helped me come out of that, and live to my full potential. Sigma is more than a frat. We’re brothers for life and I love you all for that.”
It is hard to believe that just a few months ago, the Sigma fraternity house burned down under suspicious circumstances and the fraternity was under review for possible expulsion for their chancy activities. The event wasn’t void of hazards either. A fireworks accident, towards the end of the evening, led to some minor injuries. Intoxication was likely a factor. One of the brothers, whose identity we choose to protect, was heard yelling “SHOTSSSS!” multiple times over the evening.
Inducted as new Sigma brothers were Roy Sutton, Peter Winchester, and Xavier Lafitte. We wish them the best in this new chapter in their college life. Stay safe Sigma and we hope you continue to keep on fapping along!
