Thursday night was alive with a sense of anticipation and camaraderie as we gathered for an enchanting movie night hosted by the sorority Tri Pi. In the heart of Greek Row, the quad near the pool was transformed into a cozy haven under the stars. Comfortable square poufs and fluffy yet firm pillows on cozy quilts invited us to settle in for the evening.
Our gracious hosts, Bunny Fenmore, President of Tri Pi, and Thyrvie Folkestad, Vice President, ensured everything was perfect. The sisters of Tri Pi provided an array of delightful snacks, including cinema popcorn and corndogs, adding a nostalgic touch to the magical night. This movie night marked the first in the newly renovated Quad, and it was a resounding success, enjoyed by all in attendance.
As the night deepened, we were drawn into the mystical realms of Damsel, a tale where kingdoms rise and fall on the whims of fate, and a story of valor and defiance unfolds. “Damsel” weaves a rich tapestry of enchantment and bravery through the journey of young Elodie, portrayed with fierce grace by Millie Bobby Brown. Destined for a fairy-tale union with a gallant prince, Elodie’s life takes a dark turn when she discovers she is to be sacrificed to a fearsome dragon. Betrayed and gripped by fear, Elodie refuses to succumb to a fate carved by others. Instead, she embarks on a perilous odyssey, her heart a blazing beacon of defiance.
Through rugged terrains and ancient forests, Elodie encounters wise mentors and mystical creatures. Each step tests her resolve, illuminating her path. In the dragon’s lair, where shadows dance and whispers of old sorrows echo, Elodie faces the beast guarding her kingdom’s future and the hidden truths of her own soul. Here, she discovers the boundless depths of her courage and the transformative power of self-belief.

The evening was a perfect blend of cinematic wonder and communal warmth, a testament to the spirit and hospitality of Tri Pi.
